NICET

National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies.

NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) is a nonprofit division of the National Society of Professional Engineers. Employers and local and state governments rely on NICET Certification to measure the qualifications of their workforce. Their rigorous certification criteria establishes workers who’ve demonstrated technical mastery and can provide their customers higher quality goods, services, as well as safety and protection.

Nationally recognized since 1961, Certification establishes professionalism and marks the certificant as “one-of-the-best in their field”. NICET also mandates a process of Continuing Professional Development to keep certifications current and promote professional growth.

A Certified Engineering Technologist (CT) has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology from an Accredited Institution, and has at least five years of work experience in-the-field as an Engineering Technologist. It also requires the endorsement of two professionals employed as either a licensed Professional Engineer, a NICET CT, or another Engineering professional. A Certified Engineering Technologist (CT) is NICET’s highest level of certification.
