NICET- the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies is a
non-profit division of the National Society of Professional Engineers.

Nationally recognized since 1961, NICET's certification programs establish professionalism and mark the certificant as "one-of-the-best in their field".

Certification as a CET (Certified Engineering Technologist) requires a Four Year Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.

The CET grade also requires at least Five Years of Engineering Technologist level work Experience, as well as Two Endorsements by Professionals who are familiar with the technical capabilities and background of the individual, and can attest to the quantity and quality of their work experience.

Endorsements come from Licensed Professional Engineers, NICET Certified Engineering Technologists and other professionals such as Graduate Engineers, Scientists or Senior Technologists.

NICET mandates a process of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to keep certifications current. CPD points toward recertification involve specific activities that promote and represent professional growth.
