NICET Certification as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, as well as five plus years of work experience in-the-field as an Engineering Technologist. It also requires endorsement from two professionals employed as either a licensed Professional Engineer, a NICET CET, or an Engineering professional.

NICET also mandates a process of Continuing Professional Development to keep certifications current and promote professional growth. Nationally recognized since 1961, NICET’s Certification programs establish professionalism and mark the certificant as “one-of-the-best in their field”.

NICET is a nonprofit division of the National Society of Professional Engineers. Employers and local and state governments rely on NICET Certification to measure the qualifications of their workforce. Their rigorous certification criteria establishes workers who’ve demonstrated technical mastery and can provide their customers higher quality goods, services, as well as safety and protection.
